Last night was such a fun senior shoot. My cheeks were even sore from smiling and laughing. We went to a bunch of different places, some old, some new. It was a long but awesome shoot. Here are some of my favorites of Caitlin, including a soccer one that my assistant, Alyx, took.....

New Sports Website & a SALE!

My new sports website is live. (www.photographybykari.com/sports/index2.php) With the launch of the site, I have uploaded all the KHS Event galleries from the 2006-2007 school year and will be offering a discount of 25% off any event orders. Plesae enter the code KHS07 when processing your order. The galleries will be up until Thursday, July, 19. 2007. After the 19th, theses pictures will no longer be available as I will be making room on my hard drive for the new school year.

Ice Cream

Tonight we shot Katie's senior pictures. Katie had one request for her senior pictures..... Ice Cream. I love it when seniors bring their own ideas to shoots. It makes me be more creative and makes their pictures unique. We got ALOT of great stuff, but here are some that caught my eye while uploading them to my computer....

Wow!

My new lens arrived, today, so I had to test it out. I have decided my lens taking a tumble was a blessing in disguise. My old lens was a used lens, but it always did an awesome job. But WOW the difference between the two lenses is night and day in sharpness. I'm super excited to use this lens with my senior on Wednesday. Here are some snaps of some flowers I took today while testing the lens out.

Last week... the good and the bad

Last week definitely had it's ups and downs, but thankfully ended on the up side. The 4th of July was a fun day spent with my family at my Grandma's. We barbequed, hung out, watched a parade and of course saw some great fireworks. It was a great day. Then on Thursday, I had a photo shoot with a 3 yr old boy. The shoot was awesome, we did a Tom Sawyer/Huckleberry Finn theme. (I'll try and get some of those up here later this week) The major downer of the week occurred on the way home from the shoot, my FAVE lens took a tumble off my backseat. At first I was not super concerned, then I was told there were wires exposed. :O Yikes! Making it worse, I had a senior boy shoot the next day, too. Now, I have other lenses but the wire exposed lens is what I tend to ALWAYS use. I was a little nervous about using a lens that I don't use often, but the shoot turned out great! Here are some pictures of my 4th of July and of my senior shoot.
